UNWTO: A big step towards tourism development

One of the important events of the fourth day of the 25th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in Samarkand was the Global Education Forum.

Delegates from 140 countries, tourism ministers and heads of tourism administrative bodies, representatives of international and local organizations, and national and foreign mass media took part in the event.

The forum provided information on the strategy and role of educational programmes in shaping the future of tourism, as well as the goals, visions, and actions within the industry.

It is noteworthy that within the framework of the forum, we achieved results that positively affected the activity of our institute. A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Hotel Association of Uzbekistan. This historical moment marks a new stage of cooperation aimed at tourism, management, and business development.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the International University of Tourism and Hospitality of Kazakhstan.

Both treaties are expected to foster practical exchange in the fields of tourism and hospitality, business, and management, as well as to develop cooperation in scientific research and cultural exchange programmes for students.

Also, in an implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ135 of April 26, 2023, a summit of rectors of HEIs responsible for the development of tourism in our country was held.
