Caring for people and quality education.

In his address to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, the Head of State has traditionally summarized the achievements of 2022 and outlined the goals and objectives for the coming year.

2023 is declared the year of “Caring for people and quality education”.

Improving the quality of education is the only path for the development of New Uzbekistan, the President noted. His Excellency stated that in order to achieve these goals, it is necessary to continue the reforms initiated in this area, interact more with teachers and mentors to solve the existing problems together, promote the implementation of their ideas to improve the quality of the educational process, calling education the most important investment in New Uzbekistan.

“The key to prosperity is in education, upbringing and knowledge. All goals are to be achieved through improving knowledge and education." These words of our ancestors-educators Jadids should become a practical guide for senators, political parties, local Kengashes, the entire state administration and the public.

Therefore, one of our main tasks in 2023 is to improve the quality of school education, upgrade the authority of teachers in society, and improve their working and living conditions.

The current policy of transparency and openness of our country to the entire world, the growth of foreign investment, the number of new enterprises strengthen the desire of young people to master modern knowledge and foreign languages. This urges the need to attract highly qualified foreign teachers to schools.

The next important direction in the field of education is the creation of the necessary conditions for young people to acquire modern professions.

In recent years, the number of universities in the country has doubled, the coverage of higher education has increased from 9 to 38 percent. 41 universities have already gained academic and financial independence. Rectors and academic staff should take an active part in this process by introducing new, advanced methods.

Next year, resources allocated for preferential educational loans for university students will double to 1.7 trillion soums and 1.8 trillion soums will be allocated for science and innovation.

Strengthening the spiritual and moral foundations of our society, developing the sphere of culture, supporting the activities of scientific and creative organizations will also remain priority tasks.
