MDIS Tashkent lecturers co-authored a book.
Recently, Dr.Deniza Alieva, the leading lecturer of School of business and management, Ms.Gulnoza Usmonova, the Head of School of tourism and hospitality, and Dr.Sherzod Aktamov, the Head of School of business and management, co-authored a chapter in the book “Manual para a Intervenção Social” (“Manual for social intervention”), published by Ediçoes Silabo (Portugal).
In this chapter MDIS Tashkent lecturers provide an analysis of community-based tourism in Uzbekistan and its applicability as a ground for a social intervention. The analysis of effectiveness of current measures are done, and on its basis, we obtain practical recommendations that can help to decrease unemployment level, increase income per capita in the sector and develop work and life conditions in the regions.
Social intervention is not a process of mere benefit management in which the actor-interventionist gives the intervened subject spiritual or material help, but rather a process of empowering people, through individual or collective changes, which lead to their autonomy and personal affirmation. This book explains how to achieve this goal, being therefore essential reading and consultation so that all social intervention agents obtain results and success in their professional performance.
