On November 29, 2022, MDIS Tashkent, in co-operation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan, CARE CSR Ltd. and GIZ (Uzbekistan) conducted an International conference on "CSR and ESG in emerging markets". 250 participants were welcomed to the event which was held in a hybrid format.
The event was launched by the speech of Dr Jasur Salikhov, MDIS Tashkent Rector, who expressed his gratitude to the co-organizers for their ongoing support in conducting the event.
Mr Ilhom Norkulov, the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Mr Odilbek Isakov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Ms Malika Sharipova, the founder and expert of CARE CSR Ltd. and Mr Oydin Sattorov, Project Manager of the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) has also welcomed all participants and delivered their speeches on the relevance of CSR and ESG implementation.
Foreign experts from the USA, United Kingdom, India and Uzbekistan - Joseph Kapp, Ataur Belal, Toby Usnik, Xakimov Javlonbek, the representatives of EBRD, Mr Denis Torkhov, Ernst & Young, Mr Askar Obidov, foreign and local universities represented by Dr Mir Abdul Sofique and Ms Shamshinur Yakubova, as well as Uzbek entrepreneur, Askar Karimov and others have shared their experiences on CSR and ESG implementation.
The event generated many innovative ideas and methods towards building an inclusive, compassionate and responsive society.
The organizers aimed to decode the truth behind the CSR and ESG myths, and equip businesses with the know-how and means to do CSR and ESG.
