DR. DENIZA ALIEVA CO-AUTHORED ONE CHAPTER IN THE BOOK “QUÉ FUNCIONA EN LA PREVENCIÓN COMUNITARIA: CASOS DE INTERVENCIÓN PSICOSOCIAL EFECTIVA”.

We are happy to inform you that Dr. Deniza Alieva, the leading lecturer of School of business and management, MDIS Tashkent, co-authored one chapter in the book “Qué funciona en la prevención comunitaria: Casos de intervención psicosocial efectiva” (“What works in community prevention: Cases of effective psychosocial intervention”), published by Editorial Pirámide (Spain).
This book looks at what works in community prevention. Following the action research tradition of Kurt Lewin, international group of co-authors systematically examine what evidence-based practices work effectively in different social contexts. Each social problem requires specific interventions and the results depend in part on the receiving community system. In the first part, the characteristics of effective programs and the type of psychosocial strategies that have been exemplary in the prevention of violence, crime, social exclusion, drug abuse, unemployment and other social problems are reviewed. In the second part, a compilation of cases of effective psychosocial intervention is made. With a guide to the analysis of psychosocial programs in ten questions, interventions are presented for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies, the rehabilitation of homeless people, the prevention of school drop-outs, job orientation, the reintegration of street children, the prevention of diseases and the promotion of volunteering, among other social needs. Finally, a comparative vision of risk and protection factors is developed, which contributes to systematizing effective intervention practices.
